Case Studies
These biostimulant case studies cover greenhouse and field crops (tomatoes, strawberries, corn, potatoes and lettuce) conducted in collaboration with McGill University and commercial producers between 2018 and 2025. All trials use randomized complete block designs with replicates.
Éra Boost Pro: Greenhouse Tomatoes
Trial conducted under commercial conditions on greenhouse vine tomatoes. Éra Boost Pro was applied by drip irrigation every 2 weeks (0.5 mL/L), combined with the fertigation solution. The trial began on plants already in full production.
The effect manifested progressively over 16 weeks.
Design: Randomized complete block
3 replicates of 24 stems
Result: 7.7% yield increase.
Éra Boost Pro: Strawberries (2019-2020)
Trial conducted over two consecutive seasons on day-neutral Seascape strawberries in the field, drip-irrigated. Monthly application at 1.25 L/ha once soil temperature reaches 15°C. The effect was progressive, with a marked difference at the end of the cycle. Design: Randomized complete block, 5 replicates of 8 plants.
Results:
- 2019: 8.6% yield increase
- 2020: 13.4% yield increase
Éra Boost Pro: Grain Corn (McGill, 2018-2019)
Trial conducted by McGill University over two seasons with opposing climatic conditions, a 2018 long, dry and hot (record year for corn) vs. 2019 short, wet and cold. Éra Boost Pro was applied with starter fertilizer (1 L/ha). Three soil types tested: clay, clay loam and sand. Two seeding dates per season.
Design: Randomized complete block, 4 replicates.
Results: Statistically significant yield increase in 5 of 6 condition combinations in 2019. No statistical difference in 2018, a perfect year for corn.
Conclusion: Éra Boost Pro enables the plant to thrive under difficult conditions.
Éra Boost Pro: Potatoes (McGill, 2018-2019)
Trial conducted by McGill University over two seasons with opposing conditions. Gold Rush cultivar, sandy soil. Éra Boost Pro applied with starter fertilizer (1.5 L/ha). Two seeding dates per season. Design: Randomized complete block, 4 replicates.
Results:
- Statistically significant increase in both years
- Approximately 20% and 12% depending on planting date
- Consistent results despite opposing climatic conditions — demonstrates product robustness
Éra Boost Pro: Potatoes and Water Stress (McGill, 2020-2021)
Trial conducted in a greenhouse by McGill University over two consecutive winters. Objective: evaluate the protection conferred by Éra Boost Pro under controlled water stress conditions (tensiometry). Gold Rush cultivar, 1.5 L/ha applied with starter fertilizer.
Results:
- 8.8% increase in root length with Éra Boost Pro (statistically significant)
- The yield of treated plants receiving 25% less water equals the yield of untreated plants receiving the normal water quantity
Conclusion: Éra Boost Pro maintains yields with 25% less water.
Éra Boost Pro: Field Lettuce (McGill, 2020)
Trial conducted by McGill University on AAC Champlain lettuce in the field on irrigated mulch. The objective was to evaluate different application strategies. Best combination: one application on greenhouse tray seedlings (0.5 mL/L) + one application one month after field transplant (1 L/ha).
Design: Randomized complete block, 4 replicates of 20 heads of lettuce.
Result: 23.4% increase in average lettuce head weight.
Éra Boost Pro: Field Cabbage
Trial conducted on Bourbon cabbage in the field on irrigated mulch. Same application protocol as for lettuce: application on tray seedlings (0.5 mL/L) + application one month after transplant (1 L/ha).
Design: Randomized complete block, 4 replicates of 10 heads of cabbage.
Result: 11.2% increase in average cabbage head weight.
